Hi happy blog readers! Just a note – I limit the number of weddings I photograph each year to ensure my clients receive the best service and all my creative energies; this means I don’t book something every single weekend. I have about nine ten dates remaining so if you are thinking about booking me for your wedding in 2010, please contact the studio as soon as you have your date!

Film?

yes film! I’ve been around for a number of years as a photographer and have been known to hang out in a darkroom or two. Last year I started playing around with film again but in my regular 35 mm cameras, it was too much like what I was getting from my digital work. So, I branched out a bit more. From my Holga panoramic pinhole camera.

Since exposures run into the tens of seconds, a challenging type of camera to work a wedding but if any current clients would like to have me use this at their gig in 2010, just comment on the blog!

one of my favorite images from the New York trip

I am NOT a comfortable street shooter – I was really pushing myself to capture snippets of street photography like some of my heroes used to do. It’s one of the joys of running a seasonal business that I can take the time each year to further my photographic skills and education during the downtime. The next two were literally shot from the hip by prefocusing and using ZONE exposure.

sometimes it’s worth it to wake up before dawn…

but I always still come back to the people.

Keswick Bridal Show Recap

So fun to just touch down and then flit away to spend the rest of my Sunday with family! I got a chance to touch base with some of my favorite vendor people and grabbed some quick snaps!

Look at the lovely floral from Pat’s Floral Designs! Their designs are always so unique and beautiful! Look at this gorgeous forsythia!

Adore the feathers and anemones against the moss!

Look how pretty these bright spring colors are!

oh and I just LOVE these tulips! My favorite spring flower!

Look how interesting this arrangement is! Wouldn’t it look great for a fall wedding?

H celebrated her 2nd birthday while we were closed for the holidays so I wanted to make sure we got her in as soon as we opened back up! While we have plenty of her “celebrating” I love this more quiet contemplative moment while she was stacking cups.
